About

I am an assistant professor at the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). I am also affiliated with the Archimedes research unit.

Research interests

My research interests lie in optimization and its interface with machine learning, inverse problems and dynamical systems. I am particularly interested in the analysis and design of first-order optimization algorithms, with an emphasis on inertial and momentum methods, their continuous-time counterparts, and their convergence and stability properties in both convex and non-convex settings. I also have a strong interest in stochastic and structured optimization methods arising in machine learning and more general large-scale optimization problems. A parallel direction of my research concerns iterative-implicit regularization methods for learning and inverse problems..
